DAY 26
October 31, 2006

We started today on the east side of the Virgin River. Joe, Don and Phil from Arlington West in California drove up to join us for the last two days. It was great to see them again. Last time, Don surprised us by walking 16.7 miles. Today, he walked over 20. We were all amazed.

Several people joined us on the way. It was great to see Brent Olson, the father of Capt. Olson. Capt. Olson was my LDS group leader in Iraq. Brent and his wife walked with us in Ephraim and Manti a few weeks ago. It was good to see him and hear an update on Capt. Olson.

I got a small blister on my left heal today because of all the downhill walking we’ve done lately. It doesn’t matter, there’s no way I’m not going to make it to the border tomorrow.
